Wanderlei Silva talks Keith Jardine
Wanderlei “The Axe Murdere” Silva is set to face Keith “The Dean of Mean” Jardine at UFC 84 “Ill Will” on Saturday. In a recent interview with UFC.com Silva had this to say about his opponent Keith Jardine: “This is my second fight here and I’m fighting someone who’s in the top three and I want to someday fight for the belt here, so I’ve got to beat this guy and fight with another guy to have a chance to be the champion.”
“He has a different style, but it’s a dangerous one,” said Silva of Jardine. “He’s a very good striker – he’s got good kicks, good punches, he beat Chuck the last time and he’s a very dangerous guy. I’ve trained a lot for this fight.”
“I train with Forrest because he’s tall and a very tough guy in the standup and the ground too,” said Silva. “I also train with the Croatian guy who’s going to fight Wilson Gouveia (Reljic). He’s a good striker and good on the ground too, and I train with other professional fighters. I get good sparring now

The morning after May 31 they will be cult heroes. It (their CBS appearances) will change their lives dramatically.” “ I believe the future of the sport is resting on our shoulders. If we don’t have the largest MMA audience, I will hang myself. That will make for great live television.”
Nick Diaz: “It’s great to be here with all these famous MMA stars. It’s great for me to come here and get to travel around a little bit.”
Robbie Lawler: “It’s pretty good to get this out to the general public why media needs to be involved and learn about the sport. I’m ready to fight on May 31. I’ll be ready to go.”

For me it’s an art form and a lot of these guys want to be respected in their art.”
Phil Baroni: “I’m going to knock this kid out. I am going to send him back to New Mexico in a body bag. He has a big mouth, and I am going to shut it. He’s not here, so what can I say.” “The real tough guys fight in cages. Hit the books, don’t throw hooks. It’s not all it’s cracked up to be. Stay in school.”
