Lyoto Machida speaks about Tito Ortiz

Lyoto "The Dragon" Machida (12-0-0) is set to face former UFC light heavyweight champion Tito "The Huntington Beach Bad Boy" Ortiz (15-5-1) at UFC 84 on May 24th. In a recent interview with UFC.com Machida had this to say about Ortiz:
"I've been studying Tito a lot," said Machida. "I've seen his strong points and weaknesses. My training is based on those. Beating Tito would really be great for my career. He is a legend and he once said in an interview that "for you to be a legend you have to beat one". Maybe this is my opportunity.

This fight is also the last one on Ortiz's contract with the UFC. At this time it is unlikely that Ortiz will resign with the UFC. Dana White had this to say regarding Ortiz on Thursday's media call:
"Tito is a f***ing idiot," White said. "He's one of the dumbest human beings I've ever met. Everything that comes out of his mouth makes no sense. I put up with his s*** when he was a good fighter but he's not anymore."

Gary Shaw wants Tito Ortiz and Kimbo Slice versus Mike Tyson

In a media call on Thursday EliteXC President Gary Shaw stated:
"I have had no discussions with Mike or anybody surrounding Mike. I know Mike and yes, I would make that fight in a heartbeat,"

With Slice being featured as the main-event on EliteXC's May 31st CBS show, a fight with Mike Tyson could push him into super stardom.

Gary Shaw also stated recently that he does have interest in former UFC light heavyweight champion Tito Ortiz:
"Of all my years in the fight game, I know one thing that I could see, touch, smell and feel, and that is a star and a superstar," Shaw said during a Thursday media call. "Every time I see Tito Ortiz, he wreaks of stardom. I think I can even better his days in the UFC. I think I can reincarnate Ortiz. He is a talented fighter, and he has all the mechanisms that you need to make someone a superstar."

Mauricio "Shogun" Rua comments on Chuck Liddell

In a recent interview with GracieMag.com Mauricio "Shogun" Rua had this to say about former UFC light heavyweight champion Chuck Liddell:
"I respect him a lot as a fighter and I think he, besides being a warrior, is top of the category. I've been watching him since I started fighting. My fans can be sure I'll be back at 100 percent. I'd like for him to wait and fight me at the end of the year. If I could choose who I'd fight on my return, it would be him, for sure, and I hope he accepts."
