Today's news features Kenny Florian's new online ESPN.com show, what Dana White has to say about Andrei Arlovski, and the Tapout crew filming a new episode at the June 20th WCF show.
Kenny Florian to host ESPN show
Kenny Florian announced in an interview with MMAWeekly.com that he would be part of weekly online show called "MMA Live" that focuses on the world of Mixed Martial Arts (MMA). The show will make its debut on Thursday, May 15th at 7:00PM ET.
Florian had this to say about the show: "(It's) kind of a fast-paced show on the current news and events going on in the sport. There's a whole lot of guys at ESPN that have been trying to get this done I guess for two years," said Florian in an exclusive interview with MMAWeekly.com.
Florian stated that the show could head to television if it receives good ratings. The show will include ESPN's John Anik and reporter Franklin McNeil as the shows two other hosts and will be thirty minutes in length.
Dana White comments on Arlovski
In a recent interview with Yahoo Sports Dana White had the following to say about former UFC heavyweight champion Andrei Arlovski:
"We were just talking about Arlovski," White told Yahoo! Sports. "We want to sign him. It's our intention to sign him. But I don't know. We're, well, I don't know. We want to. Whether we will or not, I have no idea. We like Andrei, and I know the fans like Andrei. I hope we can do something.
It was rumored that Arlovski would face Ben Rothwell at the July 19th Affliction event however Rothwell is still scheduled to face a to be announced opponent.
Tapout to film at June 20th WCF show
From a World Championship Fighting press release: "The Tapout Crew returns to film another episode of their self-titled reality show on the Versus network at the World Championship Fighting (WCF) event in Wilmington, Mass., on Jun. 20 where local Mixed Martial Arts star Mike Campbell will be the featured fighter for the episode which documents the Tapout Crew's quest to search for the best up and coming Mixed Martial Arts fighters in the Country. Campbell will face his toughest and most experienced opponent to date in fellow local Mixed Martial Arts star Rich Moskowitz. Footage from the World Championship Fighting 2 event can be seen on the Tapout show's season premiere in June on the Versus Television Network."
