Today's news features the UFC's new Spanish show "El Octágono del UFC", Brad Imes fighting for th e IFL Heavyweight championship, Dream's featherweight division, and the Michael Bisping vs Chris Leben fight being cancelled.
"EL OCTÃGONO DEL UFC" PREMIERES SATURDAY, MAY 10
In a move to reach the Spanish-speaking demographic, the UFC's new Spanish show "El Octagono del UFC" will debut on May 10th. The show will be broadcasted on Galavision, which is owned by parent company Univision Communications Inc. Univision is the largest Spanish-media company in the United States.

" In the upcoming premiere of "El Octágono del UFC" (The UFC's Octagon), renowned sportscasters and UFC commentators Troy Santiago and Victor Davila will take viewers through some of the most thrilling battles and over-the-top mixed martial arts action ever seen in the Ultimate Fighting Championship. "El Octágono del UFC", featuring Santiago and Davila as hosts, launches tomorrow night, Saturday, May 10, 2008 at 8pm ET/PT (7pm CT) on Galavisión.
"I am so proud to be part of this first UFC program for Galavision," said Santiago. "This is a sport that seems to have been created for us, the Latinos. It has action, adventure, extreme passion and an always unpredictable ending."
Brad Imes to Replace Injured Branden Lee Hinkle on IFL Mohegan Sun Card May 16
Brad Imes will fight Roy Nelson for the IFL Heavyweight title on May 16th. The bout was announced today by the IFL. From an IFL press report:
"NEW YORK, May 9, 2008 , Mixed martial arts veteran Brad Imes (Sacramento, Calif.) will challenge Roy Nelson (Las Vegas) for the heavyweight championship as part of the nine-bout card as the International Fight League (OTC.BB: IFLI) returns to the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Conn., on Friday, May 16. Imes replaces Branden Lee Hinkle (Weirton, W. Va.), who was injured in training."
Dream 3 features its first featherweight fight
In a move to draw attention to its featherweight class Dream announced that Takeshi Yamazaki will take on current lightweight King of Pancrase champion Shoji Maruyama at Dream 3. This will be Dream's first featherweight fight.
Dream currently boasts popular featherweight fighter Norifumi "Kid" Yamamoto among others in its roster and plans to focus on this new weight class in its upcoming events.
Bisping VS Leben Cancelled
Chris "The Crippler" Leben was sentenced to 35 days in an Oregon jail stemming from a 2005 parole violation. Leben turned himself into authorities in the hopes that he would still be issued a visa and able to fight Michael Bisping at UFC 85.
The UFC is expected to find a replacement for Bisping however no opponent has yet been named.
