MMAyou.com got to speak with UFC fighter Thales Leites as he comes off his big win over Nate “The Great” Marquardt at UFC 85: Bedlam. Check out what Leites has to say regarding his opponent’s illegal blows, his thoughts on the fight, and much more.MMAyou.com: First, how are you doing? Leites: Fine, thanks. MMAyou.com: Please give us your thoughts on your fight with Marquardt. Leites: He did a lot of illegal blows during the fight. It wasn’t just the illegal knee. It was the piledriver and the illegal elbows too. For sure he hit the back of my head! After the fight I showed to Joe Rogan the "ball" that I had in the back of my head. In my opinion it was his obligation to knock me out in the second round after the illegal knee. If he wants to fight me again I think he should get to the line, and wait in it again. I'm looking for the title-shot. He had his chance before and he couldn't get it so now it's my time. MMAyou.com: You were fouled twice in your fight and nearly spiked on your head. Would you consider Nate a dirty fighter? Leites: I think it was unnecessary the illegal blows he made on this fight. MMAyou.com: Your striking definitely seems to have improved. Is that something you have been focusing on? Leites: It was improved! I've been training hard on that. My focus is training more and more and being a complete fighter. My training is to be one hundred percent for any situation in the fight. MMAyou.com: You’ve now won four fights in a row including a big win over one of the UFC’s best at 185lbs. Is it time for a title shot? Leites: I think I'm ready for a title shot, but the UFC will decide when will be my time. I'll keeping training and I’ll always be ready for that. MMAyou.com: Is there anyone you would like to face? Leites: No. This is a UFC decision MMAyou.com: Is there anything you would like to say to our readers? Leites: I would like to thank all the fans for all the support and say that I will keep looking to do my best and make great fights. You are not even on Nates level, what makes you think you are on Andersons?

I'm sorry, but 4 straight wins and then this crap. There are rules for a reason. I'd like to see all those people calling foul on the point deductions. Take a full blown knee to the ear while there head is being held down. I'll give you five minutes and see if you can walk a balance beam let alone fight a professional fighter.
I would also like to mention that there was another very suspect knee immediately after the illegal piledriver. Nate should have to fight his next three matches against Mike Kyle. Doesn't matter the rules cause they won't follow them anyways. written by Anon, June 14, 2008
Leites was getting dominated before any of the fouls.
Notice that Leites doesn't comment on his own performance and is merely complaining about the fouls. If Leites truly felt he was better than Marquardt, Leites would've said something like, "I was whooping his butt up until he pulled his dirty tricks, which prevented me from further whooping his butt."
