MMAyou.com: How are you doing?
Sonoma: I’m doing great. Thank you for asking.
MMAyou.com: You’re welcome. What are you up to nowadays?
Sonoma: I’m just staying busy. There’s a lot of stuff going on in LA. There’s everything from catalog shoots to commercials, movies, a lot of TV stuff. A lot of traveling. I’m just staying super busy.
MMAyou.com: You’ve had one of the best seats in the house for many UFC events. What’s the best fight you’ve seen so far?
Sonoma: There’s been a lot of great fights. Honestly I can’t just pinpoint just one. I think when I was working as a ring girl a great fight was Rampage and Chuck. Everyone thought Rampage was going to lose and he went and just schooled him. It was awesome.
I like the fights where the underdog comes out and surprises everybody. Those are the kind of fights that really throw you off your feet.
MMAyou.com: Good answer. You’re probably the authority on this. Is there any truth to the rumor that Diego will drop down to 155 after his next fight?
Sonoma: No, he’s not dropping down to 155. Honestly he walks at 180 maybe 175 right now and he’s really comfortable with that. And it’s good for him because he doesn’t have to lose a lot when it comes time to cut weight.
I don’t really know where the whole rumor got started with that. I think he did consider it but really he was just throwing it out there. He’s comfortable at 170 so I think that’s where he’s gonna stay.
MMAyou.com: From your days as a ring girl are there any cool backstage stories you can share with us.
Sonoma: (laughs). I do kind of miss it because we had so much fun during the fights. We would always dance around in our little outfits backstage whenever we were getting our make-up done. That’s how we got pumped up for the fights. (inaudible) dancing around half-naked.
MMAyou.com: I’m SURE our readers are going to enjoy that. What is something most people wouldn’t know about you?
Sonoma: A lot of people wouldn’t know… Let’s see. Let’s think about that.. That I’m kind of a tomboy (both laugh). I might look all glamorous and Barbie-dollish but I’m actually, I’m just really down to Earth.
MMAyou.com: Yeah I wouldn’t have thought that.
Sonoma: Honestly on my days off I don’t wear make-up, just real low key.
MMAyou.com: I am going to throw one more question out there. Do you really read history books in your spare time? Sonoma: Yeah, I do. Well they’re based on historical figures. Like Cleopatra, I’m reading a book about her right now. I just read a book on Helen of Troy. They’re based on historical people but then they add a little bit of the romance and drama stuff in there.
The book I’m reading right now is like a thousand pages and I’m almost done with it.

Sonoma: (both laugh). Yeah. It’s good to have.
MMAyou.com: Is there anything you would like to say to your fans?
Sonoma: Thank you for all the love and support. You guys are awesome. The fans are definitely what keeps me going. They rock. I love the fans.
