MMAyou.com: Do you have the urge to fight again? Rutten: No. And when we spar everything is going so good and everybody tells me I should. But I know what is going to happen. Once I start pushing it in training my tendonitis will come back and then the whole thing starts over and over again and then it's gonna be a nightmare. Every day training with pain in your arms is not a fun thing to do. Also, with the question before about me being number four and people think that it's high, the fights in the UFC I had were with serious injuries. I won, but they weren't pretty. MMAyou.com: Is there any point to a Bas vs. Ken fight part 3? Rutten: No!. No. First of all, I cannot fight anymore. Second of all, trust me, I don't want to sound like an a**hole, really I don't want to, but right now if I would say, "Oh I want to fight Ken" that is not going to make me look good. It's gonna go like “Oh yeah, now he wants to fight him because he lost like five or six in a row." You see what I mean? He was told in Japan when we were in Pride, they asked him if he wanted to fight me, and Ken said that he didn't want to fight me because he already fought me twice. He came personally to tell me this. He said "Bas, they asked me if I wanted to fight you and I said no because we already did that twice". Okay, that was exactly what he said to me so it never happened. MMAyou.com: Who was the best ground fighter you've ever rolled with? Rutten: Hmmmm... You know this, I rolled with everybody and I don't think I, if I've been tapped by one person that means I tapped him like thirty times or forty times. And I've been tapped maybe three times over the last ten years. That includes Marc Laimon, Genki Sudo, Carlos Newton, Randy Couture, Frank Trigg, Matt Lindland, I mean I trained with everybody. They always say "Bas has no ground game", I say why don't you ask those guys? Ask those guys if I know something on the ground. Just ask. Aaaaaaa, on the ground, on the ground, on the ground. Who was I really impressed with? Marc Laimon at the time I was training with him, he was up and coming, he was very solid. He was like my sparring partner for the fight and I always really liked his ground game because if I would attack him in a certain submission and I would catch him, he would within once or two times of me catching him, I needed to create totally different setups because he already knew it. He was very fast in getting things down really fast so I can only imagine how good he now is. MMAyou.com: What would you like to say to your fans? JRutten: Just keep doing what you're doing right now because my life is going great. Finally! Finally after ten years. And you know everybody thinks when you're on TV that you're a millionaire. It took a long time man and since January everything started to be good for me. Now everything is going good. I got good representation. I'm very happy family wise, health wise, every body is good. I am truly living right now the American dream. There is not one day, I swear to God, in my car that I shout in my car. Like right now I'm driving my car, I finally bought the car that I wanted to buy. I just shout, "I have a great life!" (both of us laugh). I have a great life right now. MMAyou.com: I forgot to ask you this question so if you don't mind me going back. There's been reports about the IFL not doing too good financially and as a VP of the IFL, how are things with the IFL? Rutten: Well yeah, you know, we're an open book because as you know we're on the stock market, we're public. So everybody knows we're not doing good, they're right. But I think the shows we're going to put on now, this one show in Connecticut's coming up, and this next fight, the one in August that we're going to do, we're going to do something with it. I think we're going to show the world that we're still in business and it's going to be hard to just wipe us off. I think with Jay Larkin coming aboard that was a good move there, he did a lot of stuff. We're just going to try to see if he can create some good fights for the people and hopefully we can pick it up. We will have part 3 ready for you tomorrow. It is a good one so stay tuned!
