MMAyou.com: How are you doing?
Azeredo: I am doing great! I am training very hard and am very excited about my upcoming fights.
MMAyou.com: What's new?
Azeredo: I have been training a lot with top fighters at Chute Boxe like Werdum, Cristiano and Cyborg and I am very happy with how I am feeling and performing. It is really great to train now with so many Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu practitioners at the school. A few years ago the BJJ classes were strongest at night and consisted of ten to twelve regular students. These past several months I am training in classes of thirty five to forty five students every night. There are lots of beginners joining and many seasoned fighters that are now coming back. On average, the classes have about eight to ten black belts. This is great training for me to compliment my Vale Tudo and Muay Thai training.
MMAyou.com: You have an "in your face" style that many fans in the US would love, any chance of us seeing you in the UFC?
Azeredo: I would love to fight in the UFC. It has always been a dream of mine to show the American public what I am made of. I am at a point in my career that I want a belt. I want a shot at the title and there is no better place than the UFC. Of course I will have to prove myself. But I am hungry for this and will stop at nothing to reach this goal. So if the fans want to see some great action well, I am prepared to dish it out! That is for sure.
MMAyou.com: Anyone you would like to face?
Azeredo: I want to face the best that the world has to offer. I have been training my whole life and love what I do. MMA is what I know. I will take on any opponent. I have no fear of anyone.
MMAyou.com: You have stepped into the ring with a lot of great fighters, who has been your toughest opponent?
Azeredo: Well, in my career I have been fortunate to have gone up against only the best MMA fighters. They have all been prepared and well versed in martial arts and have come ready to battle. I think that the toughest fight I had was with "Queixada". I gave it my all and it really took a toll on my body and my mind. In my life, I have always evaluated my fights and critiqued my performance as to how well I bounce back and overcome the odds. This for me is a real champion.
MMAyou.com: Anything you would like to say to your fans?
Azeredo: I would like to say to my fans that I am grateful for all the support that I have received and I am on a mission to take the title. It doesn't matter what event or who I have to go through to get it. I am confident that anyone that steps into the ring with me will remember the "Joker"!
