After his fight with Mick Swick last November, Dan Hardy secured himself the next Welterweight Title shot Against George St. Pierre. Dan Hardy, an expert striker having 12 out of his 24 wins come by knockout, has decided to start training his wrestling. Wrestling happens to be GSP’s strong suit, and has utilized this skill numerous times, most recently against expert Striker Thiago Alves.
Dan Hardy wrote on www.thisisnottingham.co.uk “I’m also improving my wrestling technique with a Great Britain Olympic team member, It’s something different I have added to this camp to better prepare for the wrestling I expect I will have to do if I want to keep the fight on the feet. He’ll want to keep me out of the fight and get me on my back as soon as possible. But I’m ready for that; it doesn’t concern me. It’s inevitable he will take me down at some point. But I only need one shot. I only have to hit him once. That’s all it takes. I think I’ll surprise a few people.”
St. Pierre and Hardy are scheduled to fight at UFC 111 on March 27th at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey.
