Here is the question that was chosen for Bravo: Written by tdalto
Eddie,
Does it give you a sense of pride to see more and more people incorporating the Rubber Guard into their game? Recently we saw Jason Day completely neutralize Alan Belcher with it on his way to victory and it can be seen in some form or another (sometimes its ugly) in Gyms across the country. Do you think it will go on to play a bigger role in Grappling and MMA?
Here is Bravo’s response: Yes, I do feel a sense of pride, it’s very flattering to see that more and more MMA fighters are open to my style of guard playing. And yes, I definitely think the rubber guard will be standard in MMA within a couple of years, it seems inevitable. I can’t imagine Aoki going back to double wrist control guard after all the success he’s been having with the rubber guard.
