In this edition of "Ask the Experts", Bas “El Guapo” Rutten discusses how he would do if he were to go up against Fedor “The Last Emperor” Emelianenko.

Bas, How do you think you would do against Fedor?

Here is Rutten's response:

If I would be in shape and no injuries, I think I would do good, but isn't that what you always have to say if you are a fighter? I wouldn't be afraid of his stand up or submissions, but his ground and pound is sick and I don't like one of those shots in my face.

I would obviously train A LOT of wrestling and defending ground and pound from the back.

Right now I would simply lose. Sure I might be lucky but that's only a small percentage. I didn't train and he kept on training. I need at least six months to train and my knees need to be good. No tendonitis in my arm would make training actually pleasant. Right now, he's the man, I am not.
